The Walsh Kelley School of Irish Dancing hosted its 13th annual open competition or "feis" for Irish dancers June 4, 2011. Called Féile Rince Charlotte in Irish or "Charlotte Dance Festival," the event celebrates Celtic nations and their traditions. Dancers, musicians and singers of all ages participate in the two-day event. Dancers must be registered with an instructor certified by the Irish Dancing Teachers' Association of North America and An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, Dublin, Ireland.

Feile Rince Charlotte 2010
The date is set for June 5, 2010. Once again we will be at the Blake hotel, with a great new rate for the coming year, $89 if you use Group #1012. We will also have our two long-standing musicians returning, Billy Furlong and Mark Arrington, as well as our new addition from last year Jim Butke. We hope to have our syllabus ready to go early in the new year. Best wishes to everyone coming to Charlotte for the RNE Brian Quinlivan Memorial Feis in October, and for everyone heading to the SRO in December.
